Build a resume, one section at a time
Choose a template and color, edit your sections, review every page and keep a reusable backup.
Choose a starting design before entering details
Browse the public template gallery, then create an account or log in to use the Resume Builder. An account is required for creation and export. Choose the layout and color you want, then continue to your details. The design preview is fictional; it is not a completed resume with your information.
Choose a layout that leaves enough room for your content. A single column gives one reading flow; a two-column design groups information into separate areas. You can change the design later without retyping your entries. No template can guarantee an interview or compatibility with every recruiting system.
Work through one section at a time
- Add your name and contact information in Personal details. Include only the information you want to share with an employer.
- Use the Continue button at the end of each section to move through Summary, Experience, Education and the remaining sections.
- Describe your own work and qualifications. Replace every fictional sample entry if you chose to use a sample.
- Use the section navigation to return to an earlier section without starting again.
A profile photo is optional. Add one in Personal details if you want a design with a photo, and choose its header position there. Requirements and expectations differ by employer and location, so check before including a photo or extra personal details.
Review every page, not just the first
The live preview updates as you edit. On a small screen, switch between the editing pane and Live preview. Inspect page breaks, section headings, long email addresses and entries near the bottom of each page.
Use Design to adjust columns, header layout, section headings, colors, typography, line spacing and skills presentation. If a layout feels crowded, shorten repeated wording or try another spacing setting. Shrinking the text until it becomes hard to read is rarely a useful tradeoff.
Download and keep an editable backup
Choose PDF for a fixed document or Word / DOCX when you need to continue editing elsewhere. PDF currently supports Latin and Western European text; choose DOCX for other scripts and review the result in your word processor. Word pagination may differ from the preview.
Export sends the current document to the site to generate the requested file. Open the download before submitting it and check text, links, page count and the destination’s accepted format.
Save on this device is optional and stores personal details in unencrypted browser storage. On a shared device, leave it off. Download a JSON backup from the File menu before closing or reloading if you want to continue later; restore it through Import backup. Keep that backup private. Switching off device saving deletes the saved builder draft, while your open document remains in the tab.
You can also create a cover letter. See Privacy & data use for how drafts and exports differ.
