Help with your next step
Start with the tool that matches your task. These notes explain file requirements, previews, downloads and the limits you may meet along the way.
Working with PDFs
- Open a tool such as Merge PDF or Organize PDF and choose your source files.
- Check the file order, page selection and available settings. Page selections use the page numbers shown in the workspace.
- Run the tool. The source files upload when you process them; an internet connection is required.
- Inspect the result and any conversion notice, then use Download to save a copy. Keep your originals.
The standard document workspace accepts files up to 20 MB each, with up to 20 files and 60 MB combined where multiple files are supported. General PDF processing is bounded to 200 pages. Individual tools have smaller limits: Compare takes exactly two PDFs, and the PDF editor accepts a source PDF up to 15 MB.
Most tools take PDFs. Images to PDF and Scan to PDF take JPEG or PNG images. The Office converters take modern DOCX, PPTX or XLSX files, one at a time. Legacy DOC, PPT and XLS files, macros and encrypted Office documents are unsupported; save an unencrypted modern copy first.
See the merge and organize guide for a worked sequence.
When a PDF result needs another look
- Password protection: most tools require an unlocked copy. Use Unlock PDF with the document’s password if you are authorized to open it. Password recovery is not provided.
- OCR: OCR PDF recognizes English in documents up to five pages. It rebuilds pages with selectable text, so interactive content and signatures are not retained. Check names and numbers carefully.
- Compression: Compress PDF optimizes supported embedded images. It may return the original when a smaller result is unavailable. A lower quality setting can reduce image detail.
- Conversion: Office layout depends on available fonts; PDF-to-Office output may differ from the source layout. Check page breaks, tables, images and text before using the download.
- Editing: the editor adds text and other elements over a page. A drawn or typed signature is not a certificate-backed digital signature. Processing an already signed document may affect its signature validity.
If processing fails, read the error, try a smaller document or fewer pages, and retry. An unavailable conversion engine or a busy server can also prevent a download.
Editing and downloading images
Resize Image, Compress Image and the other standard image tools accept still PNG, JPEG and WebP files. Each image must be no larger than 15 MB and 25 megapixels. Tools with batch support allow up to 20 images and 60 MB combined.
Use the dedicated HEIC converter for HEIC or HEIF, and SVG to PNG for SVG files. HEIC conversion includes the first still image, not Live Photo video or an image sequence. Animated images are unsupported.
Choose your dimensions or quality, compare Original and Result, then download. Previews are scaled for speed; downloads use the full output dimensions. JPEG turns transparent areas white. Multiple outputs download as a ZIP where batch export is offered. Compression can keep the original if re-encoding the same format would make it larger.
Image processing runs on your device. For a slow or memory-limited browser, try fewer or smaller images. Follow the resize and compress images guide for more detail.
Building a resume or cover letter
Choose a template in the Resume Builder or Cover Letter Builder, continue to your details, and check the live preview before downloading PDF or editable Word / DOCX. The example preview is fictional and does not fill your actual document.
PDF supports Latin / Western European text. Unsupported characters block PDF export with an explanation; Word / DOCX keeps those characters. Word may substitute fonts and reflow pages. Documents are limited to 12 pages, 100,000 text characters, and a 256 KiB export request or JSON backup import.
Your draft stays in this tab’s memory unless you enable Save on this device. Reloading or closing the tab can lose memory-only work. Use the File menu to download a JSON backup, then Import backup to restore it later. Turning device saving off deletes that builder’s saved draft. See the resume guide for the full workflow.
Health results and device storage
Each health calculator explains its method and limitations. Enter the requested units and check the assumptions before interpreting a result. Calculations and PDF summaries send the entered values to the server for that request.
The separate health tracker saves records only after you choose to enable device tracking. Its saved records are unencrypted browser storage, with export and erase controls. They do not sync to an account or another device.
Recent tools are separate shortcuts to up to six non-health tools. Use Clear recent tools above that list to remove them. Your browser’s site-data settings can also clear local drafts and tracking records; download any backups you want to keep first. Private browsing or blocked storage may prevent saving.
Finding a download
Check your browser’s Downloads list and its configured download folder. Allow downloads for this site if the browser blocks them. A ZIP must be extracted before you can open the files inside. Downloaded documents and backups stay wherever you save them, including any device or cloud backup you use.
If a download fails, keep the workspace open, check the visible error and retry. Save a career JSON backup before reloading. For how each feature handles files and browser storage, read Privacy & data use.
