Merge PDFs, then put the pages in order
Combine PDFs, check the finished preview, arrange individual pages and continue to another compatible tool.
Start with the PDFs you want to combine
Open Merge PDF and choose at least two PDF files. Use the file thumbnails to check that you selected the right documents, then arrange them in the order they should appear. Combining files does not rewrite the words on their pages.
Keep your original files. Password-protected or damaged PDFs may need attention before they can be combined. If you know a file’s password, use Unlock PDF first. Changing a filename does not convert a Word document or an image into a PDF.
Check the finished document before downloading
- Arrange the file thumbnails in the intended order.
- Select Preview result to create the combined document. This sends the selected PDFs to the site for processing.
- Use the finished-document preview and its page controls to check the joins between files. Inspect the end of one document and the beginning of the next, especially when page sizes differ.
- Select Download PDF when the result is ready.
If you change the source files or options, generate the preview again. A preview of an earlier result cannot show your latest changes. The original/finished preview controls let you compare the source with the generated output.
Move, rotate or remove individual pages
Merging controls the order of whole files. To change individual pages, open Continue with another tool and choose Organize PDF when it appears as a compatible next step. You can also download the merged PDF and select it in Organize PDF yourself.
Use the page thumbnails to move, rotate or remove pages. Undo and Redo let you revisit edits in the open workspace. Zoom into the main preview when a thumbnail is too small to identify a page, then preview the finished document again before downloading.
Automatic continuation depends on the output format and the next tool’s size limit. A ZIP archive must be extracted before an individual PDF inside it can be used in another tool.
Check the downloaded file too
Open the downloaded PDF in your normal viewer and check the total page count, page order, orientation and readability. A successful download means that a file was produced; your final review confirms that it contains the pages you intended.
If the combined file is too large, try Compress PDF. Compression depends on the document’s contents and may keep the original when it cannot produce a smaller file. For upload limits and other troubleshooting, see Help; data handling is explained in Privacy & data use.
